Tata Capital Board Approves Rs 1500 crore Right Issue

Tata Capital recently announced its IPO comprising 23 crore fresh shares and an offer for sale (OFS) by its eligible shareholders. In addition, the financial services company has also announced its right issue for not more than Rs 1504 crore. The company communicated this through a SEBI intimation.

Tata Capital IPO Prospects

The NBFC has not disclosed any specific timeline for listing. However, following the RBI guidelines, the upper-layer NBFC should be listed before September 2025. The total size of the IPO is expected to be around Rs 15,000 crore.

After the news, the unlisted share price went from Rs 800 to above Rs 1000 per share. However, brokerages expect the share price to be between Rs 400 and 500 per share.

1. Disbursal &Loan Book Expansion: The company's loan book surged to Rs 1,76,536 crore in H1 FY25, marking a significant 32% increase from Rs 1,32,470 crore in H1 FY24. The disbursal increased from Rs 44,618 crore in H1 FY24 to Rs 62,289 crore in H1 FY25.

1. If we check their net interest income (including fees collected), it has shown a significant 43% increase from Rs 3,635 crore in H1 FY24 to Rs 5,208 crore in H1 FY25.

1. Despite an insignificant change in NIM, the profitability of Tata Capital increased as the Profit After Tax (PAT) grew from Rs 1,510 crore in H1 FY24 to Rs 1,888 crore H1 FY25, highlighting a 25% increase

1. The Gross NPA % decreased from 1.6% in H1 FY24 to 1.5% in H1 FY25, suggesting a slight improvement in the asset quality.

1. A Provision Coverage Ratio (PCR) of 70% tells us that the NBFC is not at risk, and asset quality is taken care of. Tata Capital’s risk coverage ratio has decreased from 73% in H1 FY24 to 70% in H1 FY25.
