Sunday Proptech is gearing up for a major expansion in India’s hospitality real estate market with plans to acquire 12 hotels across the country over the next six months. The move marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to scale its presence in premium and mid-premium hotel segments, at a time when India’s travel sector is witnessing a strong post-pandemic recovery.
The acquisition push highlights rising investor confidence in technology-led hotel ownership models and reflects renewed optimism around domestic plus business travel demand.
Expansion Plan Across Key Markets
As part of its FY26 growth roadmap, Sunday Proptech will focus on acquiring hotels located in high-demand urban and leisure destinations. The company is targeting properties with strong operating fundamentals and long-term return potential, which aligns with its goal of building a diversified and resilient hospitality portfolio.
Once acquired, the hotels will be operated under PRISM’s established brands such as Sunday Hotels, Palette Hotels and Townhouse. This multi-brand approach allows the company to address different traveller segments, ranging from value-driven guests to customers seeking more premium accommodation maintaining consistent operational standards.
Funding and Institutional Backing
The acquisition programme will be financed through a mix of debt and equity. Sunday Proptech is backed by an InCred and Analah-led consortium, along with Prism Life and shareholders including SoftBank. The backing from these institutional investors underscores confidence in the company’s business model and long-term growth prospects.
By adopting an investment-platform structure, Sunday Proptech enables PRISM to scale hotel operations primarily through management contracts, which keep upfront capital requirements relatively low. This asset-light yet investment-driven model allows the company to expand efficiently while optimising returns for partners and investors.
Technology-Driven Hotel Operations
Proptech remains central to Sunday Proptech’s expansion strategy. The company plans to deploy automation tools, data analytics and smart property management systems across its growing hotel portfolio. These technologies are aimed at improving operational efficiency and enhancing guest experience.
This approach aligns with broader shifts in India’s hospitality industry, where digital adoption and operational efficiency are becoming key differentiators for hotel owners and operators.
Market Outlook
The expansion comes at a time when India’s travel and tourism market is recovering strongly, with both leisure and business travel gaining momentum. Growing demand for high-quality rooms in key urban and leisure destinations is creating compelling opportunities for institutional owners and asset managers like Sunday Proptech.
As the company executes its planned acquisitions, it is expected to play a growing role in shaping the next phase of institutional hotel ownership in India.
