Shamsher Singh is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SBI Funds Management Limited. He was appointed to this position on November 2, 2022. He is taking over Vinay M. Tonse who returned to the State Bank of India after his tenure at SBI funds.
Singh has over 32 years of experience in various roles within SBI. These include holding positions in investment banking, finance, and corporate banking. Before his current role, he served as the Chief General Manager of the Ahmedabad Circle at SBI and Deputy Managing Director of SBI. He also oversaw significant business operations in the US, Bahrain, and the UAE.
His extensive background in banking positions him well to lead SBI Funds Management ––a joint venture between SBI and Amundi, which is Europe’s largest asset manager.
Singh’s background in investment banking provides him with critical insight into the capital markets that enable him to make informed decisions that benefit investors.
His experience in corporate banking allows him to understand the needs of businesses to ensure that SBI Funds Management offers products that align with market demands.
Having held various leadership positions within SBI, Singh has honed his skills in strategic planning, team management, and operational efficiency.
